Okay, so my first week of classes is over and I managed to read a week ahead in all of my classes (nerd, haha), which means I finally have time to get to this post! If the beginning sounds a little dull it’s because this is my 3rd time running through the beginning of this game. :P

After waking up at Morrigan’s after a rather unfortunate event (won’t give it away for those who have not yet played DA:O), I added her to my party. I finally had my full, four-person party consisting of me wielding a two-handed sword, Alistair as my tank, the mabari hound (who I named Titan) basically being just another slow but tough character, and Morrigan for some strong mage dps. I gathered my party and headed to the next part of the game, to a town called Lothering. Though I do not plan on using either one of them, I did the quest to free Sten, and also chose to add Leliana to my party.

On my PS3 playthrough as a mage, I used Alistair, myself, Leliana, and Sten as my party. Since I’m a warrior now and I like using Alistair as the tank, I decided to make myself fill Sten’s role as the big two-handed weapon melee weapons. For powerful, ranged DPS, I chose Morrigan. I like mages. :D

After Lothering you pretty much get to choose where you would like to go next, and I chose Redcliffe because I wanted to pick up the quest from Isolde that takes me to the Circle of Magi (already had a quest there anyway, but why not hit two birds with one stone, right? ;) ) The reason I wanted to go to the Circle so early was to pick up Wynne. After helping the citizens of Redcliffe defend themselves from a dark force that had taken over the castle, and getting the quest to bring in mages to defeat the demon possessing Connor, I went to the Circle of Magi to complete that quest. I decideBecause the PC version of DA:O is significantly more difficult than the PS3 and Xbox versions, I went for Wynne because she is a healer…and I think that I’d rather have a healer than a third dps. I miss Leliana’s poisons, but I wanted a ranged DPS and I prefer mages to archers.

YAY HEALERS!! :D (I’m a healer on WoW.)

It was in the tower that I found one of Morrigan’s “Gifts,” which was Flemeth’s Grimiore. If you give it to Morrigan, it opens up her personal quest the next time you enter camp. On my PS3 playthrough, I did give the grimiore to Morrigan, but never made it back to camp by the time I got the PC version of the game and quit my PS3 game. So, I was not expecting this at all. I returned to Redcliffe and finished everything there, as well as Denerim, before heading to camp again, where Morrigan talked to me about the quest. The quest itself was shocking enough…

…but the real surprise is when you go to actually COMPLETE the quest. OMG. I’m not going to say what it was, but I was so shocked. I could NOT believe it at all. When it actually started, I was like “Uhhh oh.” My attempt to complete the quest was an epic fail. I looked online and most people said they managed to complete it at lvl 15. I was only lvl 9, so I’m going to wait until I’ve leveled and have more abilities before I attempt this again.

I still can’t get over it. XD XD

Anyway, the time had finally come to move on to something new! I decided to go to the outskirts of the Brecilian Forest, to meet the Dalish Elf clan and ask for their aid in defeating the Blight. I had never seen this part of the game before, so I was really excited. One of the mini quests requires the main player to have some Survival skill, and since I was focusing on Combat Training and Coercion, I could not do the quest. I really wanted to see what was going to happen, too. :| Oh well~

I was hoping to be able to solve the conflict between the elves and the werewolves peacefully like Jesse said he did, but somehow I ended up having to fight. THEN it was solved, but at least I didn’t have to kill anyone, haha. :P I’m trying to be a cautious, but often compassionate, character. Except for Loghain, when I find him. I WILL remove his head. DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUN~ :P

I cut this shorter than I expected, as it’s been over a week (and a busy one at that) since I played, and I don’t quite remember the details. So much for a long, epic post. D:
